Welcome to the Co-op!

Our neighborhood co-op has one main focus: Help the neighborhood.
Offer help!! ... And ask for help when you need it. It's a two-way street :)

We know not everyone can play non-stop (like some of us crazy members), but we do expect our members to be active players. Even if you are checking in to quickly load your boat, take a couple seconds to say hello and thank you to the neighborhood members that will be helping you fill those crates you just opened.

If you have any problems with a situation/member within the nh, please bring it up to one of the co-leaders or elders in chat.

Here is some info and tips to help keep our Co-Op running smoothly:
nh- neighborhood
dd- daily dirt (newspaper)
ddd- daily dirt diving ("I'm gonna ddd. Wish me luck! brb")
rss- roadside shop
coo- come on over!
mats- materials (for upgrading barn and silo, also the general term to cover ALL mats/lats together)
lats- land materials
tats- town materials
wheating- planting lots of wheat continuously w/ the goal being to find objects (mats, axes, etc)
-this is when people tend to sell 10 wheat for 1 coin, to make room in their silo for more wheat.
-also wise to make bread while wheating (sells fast and uses wheat)

It is common courtesy to offer all mats/lats/tats to the nh before selling.

Items can be requested and agreed upon in chat, or you can notify nh of your rss sale in chat before advertising in dd.

When opening crates for help (on boat orders), remember to post something for sale and advertise it in the dd. This way the global community has a chance to help you as well, while taking some pressure off of the nh. This is especially important for difficult items to fill (dairy, sugars, bread, popcorn, etc.)

Sales within the nh are presumed to be at full price. Many members pay full price when searching through dd, so they must sell at full price in order to not go broke!

When you get the invite to "coo" to buy something from another nh member, let them know "omw" and head right over. There's enough of an Internet lag delay already- please don't drag your heels, making the seller wait on you. This is a sure way to deter members from helping one another. Once you're there, go to the far right end of their rss, and purchase the 1 wheat for 1 coin. This is how we know you're there and ready to grab your items. If 1 carrot is posted, it means "go back/all done". This  is the only way to communicate, since chat is only available at your own farm.

We love to help everyone out as best we can... But we can't read minds- so you have to ask!

A couple things...

First I just wanted to say that I think our nh is awesome, and it's our awesome members that make and keep it that way. Moving on.

Talking (I like talking.)
Our nh works so well because we communicate... a lot (some might say too much, lol).
We say hello and good bye as we come and go. We ask for and offer items. Most importantly, we acknowledge and say thank you. The Internet is a faceless and cold place, and we actively combat that by using common(?) courtesy. "Thanks for the boat help" ... "Thanks 4 h2o,". If this is too much to ask, then maybe you should try one of those nhs that doesn't talk much.

Tom
When you decide to spend diamonds to hire Tom, here's a helpful tip to get the most out of him.
Turning on notifications for Tom will alert you when he is ready (every 2 hours).
When you send him, he offer three different quantities for you to choose from. The max he can offer is nine of something. If he offers less, then you can say "none of these". He will only need to rest for two minutes (not two hours). Then you can send him again. If you have enough patience with him, he will eventually offer nine of the item.

NevABC Hardware
I also wanted to fill you in on one of the extra benefits in our  nh.
It can be difficult to store all the mats needed for a barn upgrade... when you need a barn upgrade! As a solution, we offer to buy extra mats and lats, and then promise to only sell within the nh. Think of it as a supply closet. We don't generally deal with the town materials though, as there are so many.
I (Nevada), have become the nh hardware store, and I love it! ...but couldn't do it alone. ABC Farm is like an extended branch: helping with extra storage, and happy to help you with your buying and selling needs. Since we are on opposite sides of the world, one of us will likely be around during the times you come online.
We typically offer our stock first-come:first-served. If you need a few items to complete an upgrade, please ask. We probably have what you need. The bulk of our mats are stored in Nevada's barn, since most members are on at the same time.
The reason we are able to do this for everyone is because the nh as a group, contributes to the supply. It is by no means a nh rule that you sell your mats directly to us. Many members choose to do this, but you are not required to.
